Process optimisation meets customer experience: umdasch The Store Makers and shopreme at EuroCIS 2025

A well-thought-out customer journey takes into account the interplay between analogue and digital touchpoints. The latter have long been more than just complementary solutions - they are changing how retailers organise their processes. This was impressively demonstrated at EuroCIS 2025, where umdasch The Store Makers and shopreme jointly presented solutions that increase efficiency in the store and improve the shopping experience at the same time.
This year, EuroCIS once again proved its position as the leading trade fair for retail technology in Europe. Over the three days of the fair, more than 14,000 visitors gained insights into the latest trends and the digital future of the retail industry. Together with partner shopreme, umdasch Store Makers once again presented their solutions for managing digital touchpoints and promoting the shopping experience at the point of sale, as well as jointly developed self-checkout solutions.
Visitors to the trade fair stand were able to experience and test various digital solutions directly on site. The range of possibilities included numerous hardware and software solutions. In addition to electronic shelf labelling, a universally applicable digital information pillar and digital signage solutions, the digital retail specialists from umdasch also had the umdasch eXperience Platform with them and invited visitors to find out more about increasing efficiency thanks to networking at the point of sale.
The joint spectrum of umdasch and shopreme ranged from the self-checkout kiosk matrix and Scan & Go solutions on both customer devices and handheld scanners to new systems such as snap cart (Smart Shopping Cart), which was presented for the first time at EuroCIS. The applications were complemented by the vector Exit-Gate, a physical endpoint that enables a seamless checkout process with a clear conscience for retailers and consumers.
"EuroCIS offers us the ideal platform to show how digital touchpoints in the store not only enrich the shopping experience, but also solve specific operational challenges - such as the increasing staff shortage or the growing complexity of digital systems," explains Bernd Albl, Managing Director Digital Solutions at umdasch The Store Makers.
Focus on omnichannel & holistic store concepts
The interplay between hardware solutions and digital solutions, including touchpoint management software and the self-checkout ecosystem, was at the centre of umdasch The Store Makers and shopreme's trade fair presence. Visitors were able to experience how software, hardware and store design can be combined to create a holistic shopping experience.
"Our aim is to offer retailers a complete solution - from the digital infrastructure to the checkout zone, shopfitting elements for important impulse sales and the indispensable in-store communication that characterises a successful customer journey as a complete package. This creates clear added value for retailers from a single source," emphasises Michaela Drage, Director Solution Development at umdasch The Store Makers.
Florian Burgstaller, CEO of shopreme, also emphasises the importance of the partnership: "The close cooperation with the Store Makers and their decades of expertise in the industry enables us to optimally integrate our comprehensive ecosystem into the physical store."
EuroCIS 2025 confirmed that versatile digital solutions and self-checkout are among the most important developments in retail. The collaboration between umdasch The Store Makers and shopreme shows how end-to-end digital concepts can fulfil customer expectations and at the same time make retail processes much more efficient.
