umdasch The Store Makers has been recognised by the independent and renowned sustainability assessment platform EcoVadis for its achievements in the area of sustainability. This recognition underlines The Store Makers' commitment to social responsibility, environmental protection and ethical business behaviour.


EcoVadis, the largest global provider for the evaluation of sustainable corporate management, awarded umdasch a total of 60 points following an in-depth assessment - which means the Store Makers have been awarded the bronze seal. Around 35 key figures were evaluated in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

 

Umdasch excelled particularly in the areas of labour and human rights and the environment and was rated especially highly for its performance as an internationally attractive employer. umdasch The Store Makers is therefore among the top 35% of all companies participating in EcoVadis worldwide.


Silvio W. Kirchmair, CEO of umdasch The Store Makers, was delighted with the award: "The award of the bronze seal by EcoVadis is a confirmation of our holistic endeavours in the area of sustainability. We have a close relationship and ongoing dialogue with our customers, and this award proves that we are leading the way."


For umdasch, certification by EcoVadis is not only recognition, but also an incentive to continue on the path of continuous improvement. "Our aim is to constantly improve and to think about sustainability holistically," says Kirchmair. "We will analyse our results carefully and work hard to do even better next year."

 

UN Global Compact membership

 

In order to further strengthen its transparency and sustainability efforts, umdasch The Store Makers has also decided to join the UN Global Compact. By joining this world's largest voluntary initiative for corporate sustainability, umdasch is committed to promoting the ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

 

"Transparency is of the utmost importance to us and by participating in the UN Global Compact we are sending out another strong signal of our commitment to sustainability," says Kirchmair. "We are proud to be actively involved in a sustainable transformation and to contribute to an inclusive and more sustainable economy."

 

By joining the UN Global Compact and being recognised by EcoVadis, umdasch The Store Makers is underlining its commitment to sustainable and responsible action at both local and global level.
