The City Center Amstetten is planning a new catering area that will offer even greater culinary variety. umdasch The Store Makers, the Amstetten-based shopfitting and design expert, is responsible for the concept of the new food court.

The City Center Amstetten, the largest shopping centre in the Mostviertel region, is in the process of repositioning itself in order to further strengthen its role as a local and long-distance supplier in the region. As part of this development, the focus is on optimising the branch mix, with culinary delights playing a particularly important role. Since summer 2024, a modernised catering area has offered shoppers even more culinary options in an area of 1,500 m².

Regional cooperation
As an internationally active shopfitter with strong roots in the region, umdasch The Store Makers was the ideal choice for the design concept of the food court in the CCA. The result is a design that perfectly reflects the unique needs of the local community, as Hannes Grubner, centre manager of City Center Amstetten, describes: "The partnership with umdasch The Store Makers was invaluable to us. Their deep understanding of the region and their international experience have helped us to develop a concept that not only fulfils our vision, but will also inspire our visitors. With umdasch's design, we are creating a modern and inviting food court that will form the heart of our City Centre."

Innovative food court concept from umdasch
The design concept by umdasch The Store Makers for the food court in the City Centre Amstetten was developed with a clear focus on innovation, aesthetics and functionality. In close cooperation with DIWAHN Architekten from Vienna, a concept was created that optimally fulfils the needs of visitors. A central component of this design is the appealing façade concept, which creates a harmonious link between the culinary offerings and the shopping centre areas and contributes to a uniform overall appearance. In addition, the umdasch designers paid particular attention to a high quality of stay when designing the food court by integrating modern design elements and seating to slow things down. This allows visitors to spend a pleasant time in the food court, inviting them to linger and enjoy. Umdasch will also support the CCA in terms of furniture construction, for example with wall panelling in the public areas.

Increasing relevance of food courts
Umdasch designer Maik Drewitz, who came up with the concept for the food court area in the CCA, is well aware of the important role that food courts now play in shopping centres: "Food courts are no longer just places to eat, but central anchor points for the shopping experience in shopping centres. Attractive gastronomic offerings can attract their own audience and thus make a positive contribution to footfall in shopping centres. Quality, ambience and individuality take centre stage. Strategic integration of the food court into the tenant mix is crucial for its success and importance within the centre." Close cooperation with the tenants and adaptation to local conditions and target groups are important in order to optimally utilise the potential of the location and create unique experiences. "The trick is to find the perfect mix for each location," Drewitz is certain.

In the City Centre Amstetten, this mix will certainly succeed. The collaboration with umdasch The Store Makers will help to increase the attractiveness of the centre and create a first-class gastronomic experience for visitors. With these innovative changes, the CCA is taking a step into the future and consolidating its position as the leading shopping centre in the Mostviertel region.
