Opening of the first BILLA Corso store in Upper Austria: umdasch The Store Makers as shopfitting partner

On 20 March 2025, the first BILLA Corso shop in Upper Austria opened in the centre of Linz. Where there was a fashion shop around a year ago, there is now a premium shopping experience on around 1,500 square metres. umdasch The Store Makers supported the realisation of the new shop as a shopfitting partner and provided proven shelving solutions for the exclusive range.

A paradise for connoisseurs
The new shop in the well-known Linzer Landstraße extends over two floors and offers everything a gourmet's heart desires: selected regional products, exclusive specialities from all over the world, an extensive fruit and vegetable department and a diverse range of fish and meat.

The range on offer is presented on shopfitting solutions from umdasch The Store Makers. The anthracite grey shelves from the Austrian shopfitting specialists blend perfectly into the shop design. Stylistic elements in traditional Viennese wickerwork have now become a trademark of BILLA Corso stores and emphasise the exclusive shopping experience. "Shopping like in a marketplace" is the motto in the fruit and vegetable department, also realised by umdasch The Store Makers, which offers an inviting atmosphere.

Versatile shopfitting solutions
All shelving solutions in the Basixx Family from umdasch The Store Makers - which also includes the shelving for the fruit and vegetable display units - are characterised by maximum modularity. Shelf heights and widths, compartment depths as well as the maximum load, shelf colour and materials used can be individually selected for each shopfitting project. This gives store staff the flexibility to reorganise the shelves when rearranging the product range and adapt the shelf heights to new products, for example.

The bread and bakery range offers customers a large selection of fresh baked goods in the new store. As the centrepiece, the Bakery Box ensures that the products remain particularly crispy and offers an ideal view of the range.

Wine and spirits department as a highlight
Quality and enjoyment also play the main role in the wine and spirits department of the new BILLA Corso. The spacious area offers plenty of room for wines from renowned Austrian and international winegrowers. Emotionality and flexibility are particularly important in the presentation of wine. The use of uprights to complement the shelves provides visual subdivisions of the different product categories and also serves as an important design element. Wiener Geflecht is also used as an important design element for shelf labelling in this area.
