For this second joint branch project, the experienced shopfitting team at The Store Makers once again took charge of implementing a wide range of shop equipment solutions, from manufacturing right through to on-site installation. Spanning around 665 square metres of retail space, the Kölle Zoo market – which opened at the end of July – brings together product ranges for dogs, cats, small animals and birds, as well as sections dedicated to aquatics and terrariums. The Kölle Zoo store in Gralla is the seventh in Austria, and the company’s 29th outlet across Germany, Austria and Belgium. Shop equipment for diverse product range requirements In today’s retail environment, flexibility is a crucial success factor when implementing new shopfitting concepts. Product ranges are constantly changing, promotions come and go more quickly, and the interior must support this fast-paced environment as efficiently as possible. This was, after all, the key focus in the implementation of the new Kölle Zoo in Gralla. The display units installed by umdasch The Store Makers are based on modular shelving systems. Flexibly positionable hooks and product holders make it possible to adapt the shelving structure to different product groups and changing product range requirements. The result: shopfiting that impresses both visually and functionally, whilst offering the flexibility required for efficient day-to-day retail operations. To ensure the best possible implementation within the shop space, umdasch The Store Makers fine-tuned the commissioned shopfitting solutions prior to production, taking into account manufacturing and installation requirements. This is a crucial step in ensuring that the subsequent installation can be carried out as efficiently as possible. The focus was on translating the design specifications into manufacturable shopfitting elements, as well as coordinating standardised shelving components with bespoke furniture. ![Umdasch The Store Makers Koelle Zoo Gralla 2](https://www.umdasch.com/upload/assets/02_Company/News-Press/2026_KoelleZoo/umdaschTheStoreMakers-KoelleZoo-Gralla-2.jpg) Shopfitting for sales, storage and staff areas The shopfitting experts at umdasch The Store Makers were able to deliver far more than just traditional shopfitting solutions for this project. In addition to all shelving areas and the display and sales furniture in the entrance area, the Store Makers also installed the striking entrance portal, bespoke wooden furniture, and cladding elements. Elements on the “third level”, which visually distinguish the various product ranges and aid customer navigation within the store, were also installed by the Leibnitz shopfitting team. To create an appealing environment with a pleasant atmosphere for the branch staff, The Store Makers were also commissioned to fit out parts of the stock areas and the staff room with furnishings. ![Umdasch The Store Makers Koelle Zoo Gralla 5](https://www.umdasch.com/upload/assets/02_Company/News-Press/2026_KoelleZoo/umdaschTheStoreMakers-KoelleZoo-Gralla-5.jpg) Manufacture, delivery and installation from a single source The local implementation of the project is particularly noteworthy: the shelving systems and furniture, for which umdasch The Store Makers were responsible, were manufactured around 5 kilometres away at the shopfitting specialists’ largest production site in Leibnitz, delivered from there, and subsequently installed by in-house teams. This meant that not only were all shopfitting services provided by a single source, but they also came from the immediate vicinity of the destination. For the staff at umdasch The Store Makers – who ultimately become customers in the shop themselves – projects like this are always something very special. With the shop in Gralla, Kölle Zoo and umdasch The Store Makers have now completed their second joint branch project. The Store Makers at umdasch have once again demonstrated in this project how standardised shelving solutions, thanks to their modular and flexible design, combine cost-effectiveness with an attractive design of the highest quality.
