The store, which opened on 15 June, translates the artisanal quality of bread into a holistic spatial experience. The Store Makers at umdasch were responsible for all services along the value chain – from concept and design through general contracting to shopfitting and the lighting concept. Bread as a Stage At the heart of the store concept is the bread itself. Its soft, malleable structure provides inspiration for the interior design: gentle, organic shapes run throughout the space, giving the store a calm, almost sculptural effect. The large-scale, relief-like wall design evokes the texture of fermented dough and is accentuated by a striking graphic brand logo. “Our goal was to reflect the high quality standards of the bread in the design as well. The selection of surfaces and shaping are inspired by the natural ingredients and play with references to loaves of bread and the art of baking – shaped yet organic. The resulting space contrasts with the urban surroundings and serves as a destination for the discerning snack, under the motto *Der Sandwich Store*,” says Phillip Zipfinger, Store Consultant at umdasch The Store Makers in Amstetten, about the project. A Space for Naturalness and Enjoyment Seating niches with softly rounded shapes invite visitors to linger and consistently echo the design concept. The furniture appears as if cast from a single mould – almost as if it were gently 'sculpted' rather than built. The concept is complemented by a clear, well-organised product display in the sales area which draws the eye specifically to the high-quality sandwiches and baked goods. Orders can be placed either traditionally at the counter or via two integrated self-service terminals. A loose arrangement of greenery spans the space, creating a fresh, natural contrast to the warm materials and bringing a sense of lightness. Subtle, spherical lights provide even, friendly illumination, underscoring the inviting atmosphere. Comprehensive implementation from a single source With the *imBrot – Der Sandwich Store* project, the Store Makers once again demonstrate their strength as an integrated retail expert.
