As part of the modernisation, the shopfitting partner installed the complete shelving system across approximately 2,500 square metres of retail space, as well as selected bespoke solutions for central service and display areas. The branch reopened on 9 September 2026. The demands placed on modern garden centres are constantly changing. Seasonal changes to the product range, evolving themed areas and rising customer expectations regarding wayfinding and product presentation require furnishing concepts that are both flexibly adaptable and suitable for long-term use. Modernisation work often has to be carried out whilst the branch remains open for business, so as not to disrupt seasonal sales. Against this backdrop, the branch in Schwechat was comprehensively redesigned to further develop the sales area functionally and align it with modern requirements. Modular shelving systems create flexible sales areas with a harmonious look The new shopfitting concept for Austria’s 'green number one' is based on the modular shelving systems from the Basixx range. The shelving units in a dark, earthy grey ensure a uniform yet balanced appearance, whilst also providing the necessary flexibility for different product groups and seasonal ranges. Thanks to the modular design, shelving areas can be easily adapted to changing requirements without having to make fundamental alterations to existing structures. These include newly designed checkout units as well as the store’s central information point, which harmoniously complement the standardised shelving systems. The service areas were designed to provide targeted support for operational processes whilst also facilitating clear wayfinding within the store.
