umdasch The Store Makers is playing a key role in driving the digitalisation of in-store communication at freenet. The company is supporting the digital lifestyle provider in the nationwide rollout of a new, standardised digital signage solution across all freenet stores in Germany. By the end of March 2026, around 500 branches will be equipped with the new solution.

 

For freenet, the project marks a key milestone in the further development of its own store landscape. Digital content is intended to have an impact where purchasing decisions are made: directly in the store. The new digital signage infrastructure from umdasch The Store Makers lays the foundation for this. Campaigns, product information and brand messages can be centrally managed, flexibly adapted, and simultaneously displayed in a location-specific manner – always up to date, always relevant.

As a digital retail partner, umdasch The Store Makers is responsible for the complete implementation of the solution. The scope of services ranges from the technical equipment of the stores and integration into the existing store concept, to the coordinated implementation of the Germany-wide rollout. This will take place in stages over a period of around three months, without interrupting ongoing store operations – a crucial factor for ensuring smooth day-to-day business. From April 2026, umdasch’s Digital Retail team will also take over the editorial management of content delivery and, from that point onwards, will oversee all ongoing operations, including service, support and content.
