A Hole in One with umdasch

The new flagship store of Golfhouse has opened in Wiener Neudorf, Austria. The exclusive shop is impressively spacious and was planned and realised by Umdasch. It offers by far the most exciting presentation of golf articles in Austria, as well as the largest repair workshop for golf clubs and trolleys. A golfing travel agent and an own golf outlet are attached, guaranteeing any amount of excitement.

A paradise for golf lovers, the new flagship store of Golfhouse has opened directly on the A2, just 20 minutes’ drive from the centre of Vienna. The rebuilding took only eight weeks and resulted in the largest golf house in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic, with a sales area of some 2,000 m2. The golfing centre opened recently. The concept bears the signature of the Store Makers at umdasch. The aim: to use unique shopfitting to represent an indoor golfing range in which articles related to the sport of golf are presented in a lively manner. “The Golfhouse store in Wiener Neudorf is not just an ordinary sports shop. As soon as you enter the shop you have the feeling that you are actually on a golf course! The customer journey is great fun; you can rediscover and try out many new products,” commented Markus Hirsch, Key Account Manager at umdasch.

Shopfitting fit for an impressive flagship store

The timing of umdasch in particular was suitably sporting: the Store Makers translated the harmonious concept into an exciting interior in just eight weeks – including the General Contracting. A well-thought-out colour concept helps orientation in the store: green areas symbolise the grassy areas of a golf course and provide the zoning for the different product ranges, while the beige intervening sections serve as pathways and lead the customers through the store. Suspended ceilings with ribs further emphasise the groups of products and provide a good overview within the store, which extends across an area of some 2,000 m2.

Shopfitting with variety

Specially developed shop systems with beige and white oak surfaces present golfing fashions for men and women. Different brands and colours of trolleys are displayed on raised platforms made of wood or box-shaped shelves. Specially made wooden hands present the exquisitely worked gloves and a seven-metre wall cladding houses an oversized selection of golfing shoes. The adjoining outlet offers customers branded clothing from the last season.

From the concept to teeing off

The sales area extends over an area of almost 2,000-m2 and aims not only to simulate a golf range; it also gives visitors the feeling that they are experiencing events live. In the entrance area a giant screen greets golfers in purchasing mood and arouses interest in the exclusive sport with emotional videos and image pictures.
At the back of the store you can use the latest computer technology and a projector wall to simulate and train your teeing skills. For the first time in a Golfhouse, visitors can experience the Customer Fitting Wall developed by Umdasch, on which the product portfolio of top-quality golf clubs is presented. On the adjacent teeing-off area interested customers can test the product they have chosen and secure their hole in one.

Have a good journey!

The Clubhouse: on a service island presented by the Store Makers, expert staff provide professional advice and adapt golf clubs to the individual requirements of the customer.

Has all this aroused your interest? No problem –the adjoining travel agency offers selected trips to popular golfing destinations. The Store Makers designed a comfortable oasis with seating groups for advice and informative conversations.

The partnership between umdasch and Golfhouse has been in operation for seven years now. “We first met at the EuroShop in Düsseldorf. That has resulted in a very fruitful business relationship and we are continuously fitting out stores in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic,” commented Hirsch in conclusion.
